Kolufossar
A beautiful lesser known Icelandic waterfall cascading through a deep gorge. According to a legend, the gap is created by the female troll Kola and that her treasures are buried nearby. The hill is protected by a spell from the troll.
The area provides you with endless angles of views and details. Definitely a place to stop and to enjoy the scenery.
It’s quite natural that this cave ended up with its nickname : Yoda cave.
It’s official name is far more challenging to pronounce : Hjörleifshöfði, Iceland
The pieces of ice detach from the glacier and follow the water into the ocean where they get pushed back on the black sandy beach before they melt in the waves. Icy diamonds in different sizes and shapes.
