Due to an high Kp index last night we were able to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights, even though very subtle. The pink colouration in the left part of the image is due to this phenomenon
The geysers of El Tatio lie high up in Northern Chile at 4,320 meters above sea level. Most if not all tour groups drive up there early morning to witness the sunrise in the steam. We chose to have a nice breakfast first and arrived there well after the crowds and had this amazing landscape all to ourselves (and the vincunas).
In a couple of days we will be off again. No diving this time. Different continent as well.
Getting close to flamingos, guanacos, vicūnias. Getting above 4000m.
Staring at deep blue clear skies in the driest desert on earth.
Gazing at snow covered volcanos.
