A frozen world

What means travelling to you? Escape? Discovery? Exotism? Farniente? Adventure?
I think there are as many different meanings of travel than people who travel. For me it can be all of the above.
And then there are these magnetic places. Nothing to do with latitudes, but with your very own soul. Places which catch you and will never leave you. They fullfill you with memories for years, very often for your whole life. You never know beforehand when you put your feet into such a place but from the moment you do, I’ll know for sure! What best descibes this feeling is a kind of harmony and peace which fills up your heart ,your body and your brain.
One of these precious places to me is Antartica. We were lucky to catch a cruise to the Antartic peninsula more than 2 years ago. To me it seems like yesterday and I live with the certainty that I will be back there, at least once, for sure…

National Day in Luxembourg

Tomorrow is national Day here in Luxembourg. Festivities start tonight with music, party and fireworks.
Most of the people gather in Luxembourg City .

This is NOT Luxembourg, but fireworks in Chichicastenango, Guatemala during a one week’s festivities.
It’s a shame you can’t hear the noise out of this picture.

I never heard anything about nudibranchs before I took a dive course. And even then, I knew they exist but it took me quite a time to spot one by myself. From this moment on, I got addicted to these strange creatures. Do you know that as they feed on poisonous stuff, they keep the poison to protect themselves? This specimen is feeding. There are so many things still to be discovered in our seas and it scares me to know that some of them would dissappear even before being discovered. I just hope that our kids can experience the underwater realms in “real” and not only as these girls on a canvas in a museum…
