Le temps passe vite, trop vite. Nous voilà prêts pour les 2 dernières plongées. Après une journée très maussade, et un gros orage sur l’heure de midi hier, nous espérons tous que le soleil nous fausse pas compagnie aujourd’hui.

Time passes too fast. Today’s the last competition day. Hopefully the weather will be better than yesterday. We had lots of rain and thunderstorms.

Training, training…
Hier, la fin de journée fut bien remplie. Ouverture officielle et réunion technique. Les 4 sites de plongée ont été annoncés. Ainsi, les quelques 40 participants de 23 pays passent tous sur ces 4 sites.
Aujourd’hui nous avions une journée entrainement. Demain ce sera du serieux!
Les cartes mémoires des appareils photos viennent d’être formatées par l’organisation. Nous allons les récupérer sur le bateau demain matin. Au top départ, nous aurons 30 minutes pour préparer le matériel plongée et nous mettre a l’eau. La plongée durera maximum 90 minutes.
L’eau est fraiche avec 16 dégrées, mais la visibilité est très bonne.
Demain sera la première journée de compétition et nous allons sur une épave d’avion, puis sur un champs d’amphores. Alors surtout du grand angle. Ce sera la surprise car nous ne connaissons pas ces sites. D’ailleurs nous sommes devenues officiellement les “touristes”
Vicky et moi sommes les seules a etre arrivées la veille de la compétition. Toutes les autres équipes sont sur place depuis une semaine!

Arrivée à Bodrum
Nous voilà arrivé sain et sauf… Et très fatiguées à Hotel ERSAN Resort & Spa.
Temps libre jusqu’à 15h. Le temps de sortir la boussole et se repérer dans ce complexe immense
We have safely arrived in the ERSAN Resort & Spa Hotel. Safely but tired.
Free time until 3 pm . This gives us the oppurtunity to grap our compass and navigate through this huge hotel complex.

Depart imminent pour Bodrum

Nous sommes en route pour Cologne pour prendre l’avion en plein nuit pour Bodrum. Vicky et moi-même avons hâte de rencontrer les différentes équipes participants à ce 13ieme championnat de la CMAS de photographie sous-marine.

Festival de L’Image Sous-Marine Marseille 2010
The Luxie delegation
We spent a great time in Marseille during the last week. The Festival de l’Image Sous-Marine is not only a photo contest as a lot of people think. It features lots of films (short and long) all around the underwater world. The screening of these films starts on Wednesday and goes through to Saturday. Sunday is the last day of the festival when all winning films and photos are showcased.
Concerning the films, I had 3 favourites in the lot I’ve watched :
In the Dragon’s Lair is a incredible documentary on giant Nile crocodiles in the clear waters of the Okavango Delta.
The Great White sharks of Guadalupe is one of 5 documentaries of Adventure Ocean Quest. A series produced by the German ZDF. This film won Gold this year in Marseille. It’s just wonderful to see these 3 freedivers in the water with the Great Whites.
Under The Pole makes you freeze right on your chair! Diving under the ice of the North Pole carrying all the stuff over the shelf! Wow, what an adventure!
My Mr.Hungry and Chris’ lionfish placed both 23th in the colour category

Wallpaper November
Here comes one of my favorite shots. At the end of one of our many dives in Anilao we came across this action : a lizardfish trying to swallow a tiny frogfish. The whole group was able to photograph the action as none of the two fishes gave up. Actually nobody knows who finally won that battle as we all had to come up with empty tanks after more than 40 minutes! Maybe the still sit there…
